Zapatocco From Ponte Tiglio to Zapatocco along the Craguenza ridge.

This is one of the roundtrips with the more beautiful overviews. Firts chilometers are and hard climb on normal road asfaltata but, the more you get higher, the view opens all over onto the Natione vallyes. Just over the Puller saddle, the scenario changes to the Friuli flat country until the sea. From now, pleasant country roads between woods run to Zapatocco, where the normal road goeas down to valley bottom. Then a road side by side to Natisone river goes to starting point.

0,7 - War Memorial on the left, road to Lasiz and Pulfero on the right: go ahead. Passed the hairpin bend an hard rise starts.

2,1 316 Antro. Turn right. The road keeps on climbing. A path starts from the square in front of the Church to the interesting San Giovanni d'Antro caves. The caves are opened to visitors.

2,7 377 Shortly after the bus parking turn left to Spignon.

4,8 600 Spignon: go ahead the main road.

5,7 660 Puller Saddle. Take the country road on the right. Now we are on the Chiarò valley.

5,7 660 Take la road climbs on the right in front of a dunghill. The road on the left is the Spignon one that goes down to Cividale.

6,2 - Contry road becomes normal.

6,4 - Leave the normal road that continues to Masarolis and take the country road that climbs on the right.

6,7 693 Stay on the right. The country road on the left goes to Craguenza mountain.

7,2 667 Small hut. Go ahead. The road on the left comes from Craguenza.

8,0 625 Fork: keep descending on the right. The road that raises on the left is in the right direction but, after one kilometer, is in very bad conditions and covered by bushes.

8,1 610 Cedermas, normal road. Go down through Flormi and Stonder until Coceanzi.

8,7 568 Coceanzi. On the hairpin bend in the village go ahead, following signs to "Castagno Monumentale".

8,8 568 Country road. Stay on the right. The road on the left is the one that starts on Km 8,0.

9,8 610 Go ahead. On the left a path goes, in a pair of minutes, to the "Castagno Monumentale" (Monumental Chestnut Tree): a chestnut tree over 300 year old, still producing chestnuts, 24 meters (96 feet) tall, and with a 9 meters (18 feet) circumference. A visit is interesting.

12,0 550 After a short steep slope there's the normal road that goes down to valley bottom. Take it until the end through Zapatocco and Erbezzo.

17,3 180 Podvarchis. Just before the Loch bridge turn right along the "Strada Turistica di Tarcetta" (tarcetta Turistic Road) and run until Lasiz.

19,8 225 Lasiz. Just before the village centre, take the country road that goes down on the left. There's a mirror at the beginning of this road. Go on along the country road between the orchards and the below the trees.

20,8 180 The path on the right comes from Tarcetta. Go ahead.

20,9 180 On the left a small country goes to Natisone. Go ahead.

21,0 - Cross with the normal road: turn left.

21,1 175 After few meters there's the start cross-roads.
