Prehod From Merso to Grimacco through Clastra, Prehod and Cernizza

The first part of this roundtrip is an hard rise, on normal road, until Clastra. Then a country road climbs to Prehod. A small descent on normal road to Cernizza and then a beautiful pice of country road arrives to Grimacco. From here 3 km of pleasant descent get to valley bottom, near the Liessa bridge on Cosizza. Return to starting point run along the main road near Cosizza river.

0,0 155 Departing from sports ground parking in Merso. Pass the bidge on Erbezzo.

0,1 155 Turn left just crossed the bridge.

0,2 160 Scrutto: go ahead along the old road that passes through the village.

0,7 - Cross with the main road, turn right.

1,3 163 Just before Cemur turn right following signs to Clastra. An hard rise starts.

3,3 348 Two country roads start on the left partono to the quarry. Go ahead. The rise is near to the end.

4,0 384 Clastra. Just few meters ahead the first house, take the steep slope in cement that raises on the right with signs to Monte San Martino.

4,2 - Shortly after the No Thoroughfare sign, at the end of the ramp in cement, take the country road on the right. Follow this easy road until Prehod.

5,8 460 Prehod. Take the normal road that goes down on the right.

6,7 - Cernizza. Just before the village, on the hairpin bend, take the country road that raises on the left. This is the most beatiful piece of the roundtrip with amazing overviews on Cosizza valley. Road is in good conditions because have been restored recently. There are not hard hard raises except on the last hundreds meters just before Grimacco Superiore.

10,7 - Grimacco Superiore. The country road ends and descent starts on normal road.

11,0 - On the hairpin bend take the road that raises on the left. There is a no passing sign but only for cars.

11,4 - Hairpin bend. Descend on the right (the above village on the left is Plataz). Shortly there is Grimacco Inferiore and then the main road.

11,8 411 Grimacco Inferiore. Go down on the left along lthe main road. Beautiful descent until valley bottom

13,6 - Liessa. Cross the bridge on Cosizza and go down along the main road until Scrutto. Pass through Dolina, Dosizza, Dolegna, Postacco, Crostù and Osgnetto.

20,7 - Scrutto. Turn right following signs to Stregna.

20,8 155 Just crossed the bridge on Cosizza, turn right and cross the bridge on Erbezzo.

20,9 155 Arrival at sports ground in Merso di Sopra.
