Costa From Clenia to Savogna through Vernassino and Costa

This beautiful roundtrip runs on the western side of Alberone valley. Until Vernassino roads are in good conditions (they was been restored during summer 2000) and never too much steep. Landscapes on the valley are amazing. This roundtrip starts from Azzida, passes through Clenia, and reaches Klancic. From here a beautiful country road slowly rises to Makota and Vernassino. Lesst than one kilometer of normal road and the the wonderful descent to Savogna. Starting point is reached on the road nead the Alberone river.

0,0 147 Ride to Savogna along the normal road.

1,0 - Right before Clenia take the normal road that climbs on the left (signs for Azienda Agricola "Monte del re"). Asphalt is in very bad conditions.

1,6 - Normal road tha climbs from Clenia to Klanic: turn left. Road starts rising.

2,3 - Klancic. Saddle with a Chapel and a War Memorial: pass ahead and then turn right to the country road (the one starting with No Thoroughfare sign, the other climbs to the belove "Le Querce" restaurant). The more steep pieces are in cement.

4,1 345 After a short spurt there's a fork: turn left.

4,1 - Makota. Small Virgin Mary in a grotto. Turn right. Now road is steep and in bad conditions.

4,4 - Forking: climb straight following signs for path "749a". The road on the left is for Rodda and Montemaggiore roundtrips.

6,0 - Go ahead, path 749a turns left. After a short steep road begins to descend towards Vernassino.

6,9 460 Vernassino. Small chapel. The final piece of road ins in cement. Turn left once on the normal road.

7,3 - Take the hairpin bend on the left that climbs behind the church. The road climbs until Costa.

8,4 512 Costa. Just before sign "Costa" take the country road that goes down on the right. Short after road becomes grassy: keep right. The beautiful, sometimes hard, descent to Savogna begins.

10,7 250 Fork. Stay onthe right (on the left the road that cames down from Ieronizza. Final stretch of Brizza roundtrip).

10,9 - Savogna. Road is first in cement and finally in asphalt. Turn on the left hairpin bend towards Church and then go down to the main road.

11,4 210 Main road. Turn right to Azzida.

12,1 205 Cedron. Go ahead

13,4 - Cocevaro. Go ahead (the road on the right climbs to Vernassino and Costa).

14,2 - Tarpezzo. Pass throught the village along the old road.

14,5 - Go ahead on the main road.

15,8 160 Clenia. Go ahead

17,3 147 Arrival to Azzida.
