On this route you ride the first part of "Strada dello Spignon" to pass through Monte dei Bovi ridgeline: the hill closing up north Cividale's plane. Departing from Cividale Railway Station CarPark, after a kilometer (0,62 miles) of normal street you are in the middle of the woods. The former military road "Strada dello Spignon" is quite busy now, almost uneven but with not high slopes. Rounded "Mont Spelada", a nice latch starts up to Monte dei Bovi, vertically on abandoned Vernasso Cave. Coming back short, you ride down straight to Vernasso, from where you reach Cividale on country roads or however not so busy. As this area is abounding in spring-water, easily you can find mud on the streets also in summer, particularly just before crossing Spignon road and in the first part of the down hill to Vernasso.

1,6 - Shortly before a big gate house take country road on th e right that enters in the woods.
2,1 215 Approaching "Centro Enoecomicologico Le Giovani Barbotte" you arrive on country road that from Rubignacco rises to the Spignon. Rise on the right. Go ahead on this road not following the branches.
3,6 280 On the left there's a road that goes down to Sanguarzo and the footpath up to Mont Spelada. Go ahead.
5,0 385 Leave main country road to the left one. A nice latch starts.
6,5 - Two country roads cross: go ahead.
7,0 - You meet a country road on the left that rises (to follow later) go ahead
7,4 435 Monte dei Bovi. Wondeful overview of Vernasso and the Valle del Natisone. Go back following the same road.
7,8 - Take the road on the right .
7,8 - Shortly after a small ramp, there is a plain under a chestnut tree. Take the road towards north, not taking care of the road climing on the left nor the one descending on the right. After a little up hill road goes down. Usually the first part is muddy.
9,1 284 Road that goes down on the left. Go down on the right. The road starts to be good and becomes ever better.
11,2 173 Vernasso. The country road ends.
11,6 - Turn right when the houses finish. Normal road becomes first a country one and turn then in a curious cement one: don't worry, it's a canal. Go ahead.
12,1 - Abandon the cement "bed" and take the country road on the right.
12,6 163 Entering Cava di Vernasso. Go ahead. Normal road.
13,4 160 Right before the cross with statl road and the sports ground, take the country road on the right.
13,6 - Country road. Turn right and shortly after ride on the left side.
